A Comprehensive Children’s Hospital
In addition to having one of just three dialysis units in the state, our wide range of highly specialized pediatric services includes gastroenterology, acute rehabilitation, burn care, oncology, neurology, metabolic and subspecialty care, kidney transplant, orthopedic and emergency and trauma care.
We offer an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to care that addresses children’s psychological, social and developmental needs in addition to medical treatment. Team members include pediatricians, pediatric specialists, pediatric surgeons, neonatal and pediatric advanced registered nurse practitioners, child life specialists, pharmacists and pediatric respiratory, speech, physical and occupational therapists.
TGH is proud to partner with Project LINK to offer Back to School Health Clinics that provide Medicaid or uninsured families with access to NO COST routine immunizations, school physicals, and immunization records transfers. Learn more: Back to School Health Clinics.

How the TGH NICU Helped Anna's Family
World-Class Pediatric Surgery & Trauma Care
Tampa General Hospital and USF Health partnered with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg to expand pediatric general surgery services at the Muma Children's Hospital at TGH. This collaboration provides increased access to pediatric general surgery interventions for patients and their families. TGH is the first Level I trauma program in Florida and the only in West Central Florida to achieve verification from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) for the quality of its trauma care. As a result, we are able to handle the most complex and high-risk pediatric cases.
In addition, our Pediatric Day Hospital provides patients with a child-friendly environment and support services for procedures or radiology studies that may require sedation. Anesthesia is provided under the supervision of a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist.
Children’s Medical Services in a Welcoming Environment
At the Muma Children's Hospital at TGH, we will stop at nothing to ensure children receive world-class care in a comforting and safe environment, regardless of their age and condition.
While providing infants, children and adolescents with life-saving treatments is our priority, we make sure to create a warm and welcoming space for our patients and their families as well. This includes offering access to support services, such as the Ronald McDonald House, the Lightning Playroom for kids, the Parent Lounge (a comfortable spot to rest for parents and guardians) and access to many educational videos and information. We are committed to providing the best care to our patients and their families.
