Indications for Referral to TGH Cancer Genetics for Genetic Counseling and Testing
- Cancer diagnosed under the age of 50
- Multiple close family members with the same or related cancers
- Any individual (or close relative if the individual is not available) with:
- Ovarian cancer
- Pancreatic cancer
- Male breast cancer
- Metastatic prostate cancer
- Cancer and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry
- Individual with more than one cancer
- Individual with 10 or more colon polyps
- Individuals with tumor screening suspicious for germline mutation
- Loss of expression of mismatch repair deficiency proteins (abnormal IHC)
- Microsatellite instability (MSI-high)
- Pathogenic variant on somatic testing suspicious for germline origin
- Relatives of an individual with a genetic mutation in the family
- Individual with a known inherited cancer syndrome interested in the most up-to-date recommendations
