TGH-USF People Development Institute

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and the University of South Florida (USF) Muma College of Business have joined forces to create the People Development Institute (PDI). The combined resources develop a unique, comprehensive program to support all team members' career aspirations and equip them with the skills to drive their development. This program is one of the first of its kind in the country and offers a wide variety of free non-clinical courses to all team members.

Program Overview

PDI course goals include advancing safety, patient outcomes, quality, engagement, leadership, teamwork, and personal and team development. After PDI courses are completed, a digital badge is awarded, which allows team members to recognize their expertise in health care professional competencies. Several courses in the PDI catalog provide the option to earn continuing education (CE) credits. Courses identified with the CEB 20# have CE contact hours available for specific licensed health disciplines.

Non-Clinical Courses

The PDI course catalog includes non-clinical courses in the following subjects:

  • Business Skills
  • Value-Based Care
  • Personal and Professional Development
  • Management and Leadership
  • Communication
  • Career Development
