About Emelda Forrester, MSN, BSN, FNP-BC, RN-BC
Emelda Forrester serves as the Director of Patient Services for the Acute Care Surgical Division at Tampa General Hospital. Prior to this role, Emelda was a Senior Nurse Manager with oversight of Neuroscience 1 and Neurodiagnostic units.
Previously, Emelda was the Director of Patient Care Services at Mount Sinai Brooklyn, responsible for the Admitting Department operations of a 212-bed hospital. In this role, she managed peri-operative areas, patient experience, and dietary departments, and led initiatives to support staff mental health and wellness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With over 20 years of progressive leadership experience, Emelda has a solid foundation in operational management, and inter-departmental collaboration. She has held various leadership roles throughout her career, including Administrative Nurse Manager at Montefiore Medical Center and Director of Patient Care Services at North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Emelda holds an MSN/FNP from Molloy College and is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her commitment to continuous improvement and her ability to inspire and mentor nursing professionals make her an invaluable asset to any healthcare organization.
