Neurosurgery Procedures and Treatment from Experts

The Neuroscience Institute performs more neurosurgeries than any other hospital in the region. There are numerous neurosurgery subspecialties, including functional neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, neurotraumatology, neurovascular surgery, pediatric neurosurgery and spine surgery. At TGH, we have experienced surgeons within all of these subspecialties, and we provide excellent outcomes with advanced treatments like skull-base surgeryfocused ultrasound treatment and vestibular schwannoma surgery.

Advanced Neurological Diagnostics & Treatments

Our multidisciplinary team utilizes innovative techniques and state-of-the-art technology to provide the best possible outcomes for patients with neurological conditions. Some of our most advanced procedures incorporate:

  • Intraoperative MRI  Intraoperative MRI provides high-resolution, real-time imaging of the brain during and after neurosurgery, reducing the risk of causing surgery-related damage to other parts of the brain and making it easier to confirm a procedure’s success.

  • Focused ultrasound — This incisionless procedure involves using ultrasound waves to heat up and destroy specific areas in the brain that generate disabling tremors.

  • KINEVO® microscope — This surgeon-controlled robotic device allows for precision tumor resection surgery with advanced visuals.

In addition, TGH consistently participates in groundbreaking clinical trials and research. This increases our specialists’ expertise and allows us to identify candidates for cutting-edge neurological treatments.
