Tampa General Hospital’s Transplant Houses serve as a “home away from home” for outpatient transplant patients who must travel long distances for treatment, checkups and testing at the hospital.

Newly transplanted patients have required follow-up visits two to three times a week during the first two months after organ transplant surgery. Our post-transplant housing is close to the TGH campus and provides convenient access to outpatient services at TGH’s Transplant Institute.

What Our Comfortable Transplant Lodging Features

There are two transplant houses. Patients who are assigned to housing will be sharing the house with other discharged patients. Each house accommodates six adults and features:

  • Three bedrooms, each with two beds and a private bathroom
  • Two living room areas
  • A kitchen
  • A dining room
  • A screened porch

A family member or caregiver is encouraged to stay with a patient in post-transplant housing.
