Published: Mar 10, 2023Now patients visiting TGH Urgent Care will have all their Tampa General laboratory, hospital imaging, emergency department, inpatient care as well as primary and specialty outpatient services in one unified medical records system.
Tampa, FL (March 10, 2023) – TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track clinics throughout Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties are all successfully transitioned to a new electronic medical record system which enhances patient care by seamlessly and securely connecting patient information within the Tampa General Hospital network.
An electronic medical record includes information about a patient's health history, such as diagnoses, medications, tests, allergies, immunizations, and treatment plans. The electronic medical record system securely connects TGH Urgent Care’s patient information with Tampa General Hospital's electronic medical records. Now, patients visiting any of the 16 TGH Urgent Care clinics will have all of their services in one unified medical record system to help TGH Urgent Care health care providers have a comprehensive view into the patient’s medical history and overall health.
“We are excited to fully transition to our new electronic medical record system that connects throughout the Tampa General network,” said Dr. Nicole Frommann, senior medical director, TGH Urgent Care. “With increased access to Tampa General’s medical records, this transition brings improved patient care coordination for more thorough diagnostics and treatment plans. We are fully integrated with the hospital system which will provide a much easier process for patients needing follow-up care at any Tampa General location. We always strive for high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care, and this transition will allow us to provide that more efficiently and completely.” TGH Urgent Care health care providers can securely access a patient’s Tampa General record at any urgent care location. Referrals for any further care can be more efficient and a patient’s primary care doctor or specialist can easily view the details of an urgent care visit and refer them to necessary care, further streamlining the process for patients. Patients can view results and notes from their urgent care visits on Tampa General’s password-protected patient portal called MyChart.
Tampa General and TGH Urgent Care use the Epic electronic medical record system. More than 280 million patients worldwide have a current electronic record in Epic with the majority of U.S. News & World Report's top-ranked hospitals and medical schools using Epic electronic medical records. U.S. News’ Best Hospitals honor roll recognizes 20 of the nation's highest-performing hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. More than 5,000 hospitals are evaluated each year. Along with comprehensive medical record access, TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track has recently updated its online patient registration process with the “On My Way” platform for a shortened virtual check-in process that can be completed prior to arrival, allowing patients to do paperwork from the comfort of their own home. Walk-in appointments are available; however, an “On My Way” check-in is recommended.
To use “On My Way” from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, visit www.fasttrackurgentcare.com/onmyway or call 813-925-1903. All patients will be evaluated by a health care provider to determine appropriate care and testing. Emergencies are prioritized and wait times may vary due to the number of patients in the clinic. TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track is comprised of 16 locations throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties. All urgent cares are open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and provide medical care for patients 3 months and older. Common illnesses and injuries are treated, including coughs, colds, fevers, ear infections, eye problems and stomach issues.
