TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track opens in a new integrated Diagnostic Center in St. Petersburg.

Tampa, FL (Oct. 3, 2022) – Tampa General Hospital has opened the first phase of a new Diagnostic Center providing urgent care, primary care, and cancer care services all in one location. The new center at 4949 4th Street North in St. Petersburg is now offering urgent care provided by TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track and care coordination services, with Tampa General Medical Group offering primary care and TGH Cancer Institute surgical oncology services coming soon.

Diagnostic Centers are another way we are innovating the delivery of health care. By co-locating urgent care, primary care, and specialty care services we can offer patients convenient access to high-quality, comprehensive medical care instead of traveling to multiple locations,” said Tampa General Hospital Executive Vice President and Chief Ambulatory Care Officer Adam Smith.

“The true difference here is customized care navigation. Whether you are an established patient, or just trying to understand more about your health care needs, options, and available resources, our care coordinator is here to help you.” A care coordinator can connect patients with the entire Tampa General network of specialists and services and can help patients more easily access health care by setting up appointments and answering questions.

The St. Petersburg location encompasses nearly 10,000 square feet and when complete, will feature a total of 19 patient exam rooms — split between primary care, urgent care, and cancer care services.

“We’re helping patients get the right care at the right time and at the right place,” said Dr. Daron Diecidue, chief executive officer, TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track. “Our newest urgent care location delivers medical testing, diagnosis and treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries close to home for people and families in the area.”

This is the 16th TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track location in the Tampa Bay area. It is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and provides medical care for patients 3 months and older. Common illnesses and injuries are treated, including coughs, colds, fevers, ear infections, eye problems and stomach issues. A list of additional conditions that are treated and procedures offered may be found at www.fasttrackurgentcare.com.

Other urgent care services include:

  • On-site diagnostic procedures — X-rays, EKGs, blood draws, urinalyses and drug screens.

  • Employer solutions — pre-employment screenings, employment physicals and clearances, and assessments for workers’ compensation injuries.

  • Prescriptions — certain prescriptions can be filled on-site.

TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track is the first system of urgent care centers in the Tampa Bay area to achieve accreditation through the Urgent Care Association (UCA). This is the highest level of distinction for urgent care centers and means that the locations have met all the UCA’s established standards and criteria for quality of patient care, safety, and scope of services.

Walk-in appointments are available; however, a FastPass Reservation is recommended. To make a reservation, visit www.fasttrackurgentcare.com/fastpass or call 813-925-1903.

Coming Soon: Primary Care, Cancer Care

In the coming weeks, dedicated spaces in the new Diagnostic Center will open for primary care provided by Tampa General Medical Group and for surgical oncology services provided by TGH Cancer Institute.

The collaboration of primary and specialty care services under one roof will streamline patient care,” said Tampa General Medical Group Senior Administrator Dr. Karna Patel. “Many Tampa General patients live in St. Petersburg and a new Diagnostic Center, conveniently located on 4th Street, will help support the health care needs of the community. Our intent is to provide a one-stop center for people who want convenient, affordable and quality health care and we look forward to bringing more primary care services to the St. Petersburg community at the Diagnostic Center,” Patel said.
