Tampa, FL (Dec. 13, 2024) – The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) announced that it has awarded Tampa General Hospital (TGH) a Certified Level 10 (out of 10) score in both the Acute and Ambulatory sectors among 2024 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired organizations. The annual survey is designed to identify and recognize health systems that exemplify best practices through their adoption, implementation and use of information technology.
“Our team at Tampa General remains steadfast in our commitment to transform the health care landscape through innovation and continued investment in digital transformation is a critical part of bringing that vision to life,” said John Couris, president and CEO of Tampa General. “Together with our leading technology partners, we are harnessing the power of artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to make our data not only meaningful but actionable. And, in turn, we are driving enhanced care coordination, operational excellence, patient safety and providing a better experience for our patients, providers and team members.”
This year marks the 12th consecutive year that Tampa General earned a Most Wired Designation from CHIME and the first time the academic health system was certified as a Level 10 organization. This designation puts Tampa General among a select group of health systems worldwide; the survey included 591 institutions, with only 15 receiving Certified Level 10 scores in both categories. Tampa General was one of only three health systems in Florida recognized by CHIME and the only one in Southwest Florida to achieve top marks in the acute and ambulatory care sectors.
“We are proud to receive the highest-level scores from CHIME’s Healthcare Most Wired survey alongside a group of the nation’s leading academic health systems,” said Scott Arnold, executive vice president and chief digital and innovation officer of Tampa General. “Our team has worked diligently to identify, deploy and optimize strategies for technologies that enable world-class care, and this recognition reflects our commitment to elevating health care delivery through innovative digital health strategies.”
CHIME’s annual survey is an international benchmarking and recognition program, which serves as a comprehensive “Digital Health Check-up” for health care organizations across the world. As success in digital health increasingly influences the quality of patient care, the scope of the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired survey reflects the progress of leading health care providers as they leverage technology to improve patient outcomes. To earn a top-level designation, organizations must demonstrate ranking above peers in categories including analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure and patient engagement.
