How to Schedule a Virtual Behavioral Health Visit
Appointments can be scheduled any day of the week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and are confirmed within 72 hours of booking. Follow these steps to schedule a telehealth counseling session:
Step 1: Register your TGH Virtual Health account via mobile app or log into your account if you’re already registered.
Step 2: Request a visit through the TGH Virtual Health mobile app and select the Teladoc Behavioral Health service and answer a few questions.
Step 3: Select from the list of Teladoc providers (therapists, social workers, psychiatrists and psychologists). Request preferred dates and times that work best for you.
Step 4: Fill out a brief emotional health questionnaire. After that, your therapist will select which time and date fits in their schedule and confirm it with you.
You can access the Behavioral Health service by downloading the TGH Virtual Health mobile app. Request a visit through the app and select the Teladoc Behavioral Health service. When requesting a video appointment, you pick your preferred appointment time, followed by two other available times to propose to the provider. The provider can either accept the time you proposed or propose other times to you to get the consult scheduled. If a provider needs to propose a new time, they use the information from the consult request to propose a suitable time. You can either accept the proposed time or suggest a new time to start the process over. You can request an appointment as early as 72 hours in the future. Our providers will respond to your appointment request within 48 hours.
After completing a quick intake assessment, you will have a conversation with the Behavioral Health professional just as if you were in person. At the end of the visit, the provider will schedule a follow up if the individual specialist deems necessary. At this time, only the next visit can be scheduled.
All medical records are kept in a secure environment and Teladoc/TGH Virtual Health does not share the information with anyone outside of the patient’s specific request or as required by law.
If you would like, your Teladoc mental health provider will send documentation of your treatment to your primary care provider for your medical records. You can make this request in writing or by phone to your Teladoc provider; however, you must provide written approval to the Teladoc provider to release your records.
Our psychiatrists do not prescribe antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, or stimulants. Our therapists (psychologists, counselors, etc.) do not prescribe medications.
